He began his nursing career as vaccination nurse in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. He has a background in sports medicine and nutrition stemming from his previous careers as a physical therapy aide and wellness consultant.

Marcus is passionate about increasing multicultural representation in healthcare and empowering demographically diverse patients to make informed decisions about their health. He continues to mentor aspiring health professionals from disadvantaged backgrounds and connecting families in need to community resources. Marcus finds joy in assisting his patients along their health journeys and meeting them where they are. Mr. Sheppard provides full-spectrum medical care to patients of all ages. When he is not in clinic, Marcus can be found spending time outdoors with partner and their young son, playing basketball, practicing yoga, or watching family comedies.
