Living in Tacoma, Washington

The Tacoma area is a beautiful place to live and work. While still retaining a small town feel, Tacoma is a vibrant center for culture, restaurants, art, museums, and music. Plus, we have more than 700 acres of parklands. Tacoma is also home to three major universities including the University of Washington in Tacoma, University of Puget Sound, and Pacific Lutheran University.

Nestled between two mountain ranges and situated on the shoreline of the pristine Puget Sound, Tacoma is the outdoor lover’s paradise. You will be just minutes away from sailing, hiking, biking, fishing, and skiing – plus many other exciting outdoor activities. Tacoma is also centrally located just 30 miles south of Seattle and 174 miles south of Vancouver, B.C.

Although Western Washington has a reputation for heavy rainfall the average annual rainfall is less than Houston, New York City, Atlanta, Memphis, and St. Louis.
