Affording Healthcare

Changes to Apple Health (Medicaid) access is all over the news. Community Health Care (CHC) wants people to know that they don’t have to decide between all the important things. Affordable, accessible health care is still available to families whether or not they have medical and/or dental insurance.

Apple Health (Medicaid) patients: If you are concerned about your insurance status or need to renew, contact our Insurance Navigator Team to review your status and discuss options as soon as possible. You don’t need to be a Community Health Care patient to utilize this resource.

We can help healthcare remain affordable and accessible in a couple of different ways:

Good Faith Estimate:
Before an appointment or procedure, ask the customer service representative or member of the front desk team what the cost will be. If informed of costs before treatment, a patient can make a better-informed decision before proceeding.

Sliding-Fee Scale:
A sliding fee scale is a pricing model based on a patient’s income and family size. The larger the family and/or the lower the income, the less a patient will pay for services. If the sliding-fee scale is still out of reach, Community Health Care can work with patients on a payment plan. The sliding-fee scale is used across all Community Health Care’s services: medical, dental, behavioral health, and prescriptions from our pharmacies.

For questions about the sliding-fee scale, contact customer service (253) 722-2161 or speak to the front desk staff at your clinic.
