Network Tacoma
(253) 474-9334
5435 South M Street Tacoma, WA 98408
The mission of Network Tacoma is to provide a program that addresses the root causes of the cycle of homelessness to keep the next generation of children off the streets. The typical barriers for families experiencing homelessness are stable employment, transportation, and affordable housing. In addition, we address other issues through case management (ie. job training, resources, and emotional support). After graduating our transitional program, many of our families often move into our long-term low-income housing while they continue to progress. Though there is less oversight for these families, as they have shown stability and a trajectory toward self-sufficiency, there is still support offered as needed.

A family who calls the Open Hearth Ministries line (253-307-2274) from approximately 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. will speak directly with, or receive a return call from, a volunteer screener who obtains basic information from the family and determines if the family meets our criteria. Our criteria is the family must currently be homeless, their most recent address must be in Eastern Pierce County, and school-age children must be enrolled in one of the local school districts. If the criteria is met, the screener will make arrangements with a local motel and contact a volunteer visitor who will visit the family and help them begin the long process of ending their homelessness.
