APPROVED STATE BUDGET INCLUDES $1.9 MILLION GRANT FOR EASTSIDE
A grant for $1.9 million originally in the Governor's budget survived in the midnight hours on Sunday, April 26^th 2009 and was approved by the legislature.  This grant is a Building Communities Program of the Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development.  Community Health Care is grateful to the Governor and to the Legislators of Pierce County who encouraged its inclusion in the budget.  Thank you all!

KRESGE FOUNDATION GRANT IS A "STIMULUS" TO THE CAMPAIGN
The Kresge Foundation of Troy Michigan offered Community Health Care a grant of $550,000 to be awarded to the project if it meets it goal of $8.1 million in pledges and gifts.  Since the campaign needs approximately $600,000 to reach this objective, every dollar essentially becomes two dollars.  Les Cathersal and Greg Tanbara, co chairs of the campaign invite all who have not given and all who have given to consider an additional gift to insure that this match becomes a reality.
