Supporting the Patients and Projects of Community Health Care

In 1968, Pierce County Hospital, which served uninsured and low-income residents, closed its doors.  Community leaders met to find a way to help individuals access needed medical care.  From this meeting, Community Health Care was born.

At Community Health Care, no one is denied care because of inability to pay. Those without insurance or who are under-insured are provided care on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size. Our mission is: “To provide the highest quality healthcare with compassionate and accessible service for all.”

In 2021 more than 46,000 patients in Pierce County were served by Community Health Care. Of those patients, 50% were at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level. Your gifts support the members of our community with the greatest need.
